Our Corporate Affairs team plays a key role in protecting and enhancing the reputation of the firm.
Split into external and internal communications streams, the integrated team produces end-to-end campaigns across a variety of channels and coordinates the firm's response to sensitive issues.
As a Media Relations Senior Manager, you would engage closely with leaders across our three lines of service; Assurance, Advisory and Tax and Legal, helping to promote brand defining pieces of Thought Leadership and showcase our market leading capabilities.
A significant part of this role also involves crisis communications and issues management, with a strong focus on internal stakeholder engagement and executive communications.
The team works hand in glove with our experienced Government Relations and Regulatory Affairs unit.
We're looking for an all-rounder with a strong news sense, someone who's hungry to sink their teeth into a complex business environment and challenge themselves to deliver comprehensive, end-to-end media strategies in proactive and reactive scenarios.
Experience in journalism, external communications, political and/or regulatory advisory is a must for this position.
In our Corporate Affairs team, you will:
Be the point of contact for all journalists and a spokesperson for the firm
Respond to media inquiries from domestic and global outlets
Project manage end-to-end communications strategies
Prepare world-class thought leadership and other high-impact campaigns for media coverage and external reach
Prepare partners and executives for interviews or external engagements
Contribute to our digital and social media strategy
Work closely with internal communications and engagement colleagues to sell our firm's message
Keep abreast of social, political and regulatory developments that are of relevance to our firm, our clients and our staff
Be a champion for Corporate Affairs function, always considering other parts of the team at all times
More About You
You will have 6-8+ years plus experience in external affairs, ideally with a mix of experience in journalism, media/external communications, corporate communications, social and digital media, or political and/or regulatory roles.
You are high energy and looking for a role that is always on.
You thrive in a fast paced environment and enjoy getting involved in varied issues and campaigns.
You have excellent verbal and written communications skills, including media release writing, copywriting and editing, and you are skilled in advising on, and dealing with, the practical application of media coverage.
You are interested in the type of work that PwC Australia does, and you are collaborative and enjoy working with people.
You recognise that good internal stakeholder management is often the key to success.
