About the RoleThe Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) is seeking a highly skilled Media and Communication Advisor to play a critical role in the organisation's media management. This position will support the organisation's mission through effective communication strategies, media and social media engagement.
As a Media and Communication Advisor, you will work closely with senior leaders to mitigate reputational risks and promote AMSA's objectives. Your key responsibilities will include:
Managing daily media operations, including media liaison, monitoring, analysis, and reportingPreparing engaging media material and responsesSupporting emergency response media coordinationOverseeing the management of AMSA's social media channelsSupporting communications for AMSA's international engagementKey Skills and ExperienceTo be successful in this position, you will have the following skills and experience:
Tertiary qualifications in media, journalism, or communicationsExperience in media and communication roles, preferably in GovernmentStrong crisis management and reputational risk management skillsProficiency in managing social media channelsExcellent writing and interpersonal skillsAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionAMSA BenefitsWe are committed to a supportive and collaborative work environment, which is why AMSA offers:
