The Opportunity?
Our KCGM Growth Project Team currently has an opportunity for a Mechanical Reliability Engineer to join them and play a key role in driving engineering readiness planning for the KCGM Growth Project.
Reporting to the Operational Readiness Manager - Assets , this role oversees and facilitates the development of the asset hierarchy, asset tactics and supporting documentation package through to completion, along with support in commissioning and ramp up of all assets under the responsibility of the KCGM Growth Project , including Enabling Works, the Processing Plant and the Tailings Facility.
The Mechanical Reliability Engineer opportunity can be Perth or Kalgoorlie (residential only) based and will be required for a two-year-term , working a standard Monday to Friday work week, with travel to site as and when required.
Key areas of responsibility include:
Be the owner and master user of all Nexus Global Optimiser (NGO) software activities. Drive optimal utilisation of NGO (previously PMO 2000) software , across the project, for the following: Develop full detailed Asset Hierarchy of all new assets including all associated information to assist in future operation. Facilitate Asset Criticality assessment workshops with all relevant stakeholders. Prework, facilitation and development of FMECA's for all assets. Task development to address all failure modes. Grouping of all tasks into relevance. Manipulation of grouping to align with NSR Asset Management PM standards. Auto generation and subsequent manipulation of work instructions. Transfer of all information into Pronto using automatically generated upload sheets. Verification of all data in Pronto. Oversee the NGO software integration into KCGM Asset Management standards. Train & mentor operational personnel on the importance & uses of in criticality & FMECA processes . Commissioning & post run up support of operational team in managing optimisation of maintenance tactics. Provide technical expertise to both the Growth Project and Operational Teams across all mechanical related tasks. Provide support for critical and operational spares list development, as well as full BOM development. Integrate solutions for current state processing reliability opportunities. Identify issues/gaps which need resolution and create a management plan to implement improvements such as reliability engineering support to failure analysis processes, defect identification, reporting, and elimination. About you?
With extensive experience in a similar role, you will have significant asset management experience, specifically within the reliability engineering space, and have a strong working knowledge of asset management best practices, across your remit.
The following will see you set for success in this key role:
A Tertiary Qualification in Mechanical Engineering , along with extensive experience in a similar role, or the equivalent asset management experience at a senior level, ideally within a gold or mineral processing plant environment. Supervisory / people management experience, with the ability to coach, mentor & influence others; leading by example, and driving successful outcomes. A strong working knowledge of Asset Management best practices. Strong verbal & written communication skills, with the ability to build collaborative & functional relationships across a diverse range of stakeholders. Technically astute, with proficiency in reading electrical drawings. Solutions focused, with strong analytical & problem-solving skills & the ability to foresee and plan for potential scenarios across your remit, mitigating any associated risk. Solid computer literacy across the Microsoft Office Suite, as well as within a CMMS , ideally Pronto. Well organised with a keen attention to detail, you think strategically & are commercially astute. Flexible & adaptable to changing priorities, you can multitask effectively, and are comfortable working in a dynamic and outcome driven environment.
