About the role
Mater Private Hospital Bundaberg is currently accepting Expression of Interests for an Infection Control Facilitator to join the team in a permanent part time opportunity, 0.5 FTE appointment/40hrs per fortnight. The successful applicant will be working within Rehabilitation, Medical, Surgical unit cohorts.
The Infection Control Facilitator shall undertake responsibility for the development of programs, policies and processes that align and comply with contemporary infection control practices, applicable legislative regulations, and standards. The ICF shall collaborate with Departments and Quality Manager to ensure initiatives and programs are consistent and applicable to the Hospital operational and strategic objectives.
Promote and adhere to the Mission and Values of Mater Misericordiae Limited. Accept, adhere and promote workplace safety in accordance with the relevant legislation, standards, policies, procedures and model guidelines that promote 'zero harm' for staff and 'zero preventable harm' for patients. Coordinate the planning for, and responses to, all infection control related processes. Contribute to the integration of sound infection control principles into procedural workflows and assessment outcomes requiring remedial action that support positive patient and/or care recipient outcomes. Participate and contribute to local and state-wide Infection Control Meetings and Working Groups. Prepare and present Infection control reports, both written and verbal to key stakeholders. Support infection control processes, procedures and plans by providing education and training to staff. Apply an evidence-based approach in relation to infection control planning and compliance. About you To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate the following criteria:
Current and ongoing registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency ("AHPRA") or another professional registration relevant to the role. The successful applicant must have current and in-depth knowledge of AS5369 (sterilising standard) and ability to work within this setting to support the NUMs. Ability to demonstrate clinical problem solving. A commitment to ongoing education and learning.
