Our Cairns site is looking for our next Project Supervisor or Manager to join the team.
Persons with a solid background in planned and unplanned maintenance and refits of Commercial fishing vessels, Tourism, and 'pleasure craft' encouraged to apply.
ABOUT THE POSITION
Co-ordinate all aspects of the assigned project in accordance with the Scope of Work and Contract Documents;
Develop an in-depth knowledge of the Contract Documents/contract for the assigned project;
Secure sound commercial outcomes for Norship for assigned projects;
Ensure high levels of utilisation of Norship resources;
Manage the customer experience for assigned projects;
Meet with the customer/client and key stakeholders to take instructions and to keep the customer/client informed at all times;
Assist in the preparation of quotations/estimates for project works;
The inspection and approval of any works as necessary;
Work with production team to ensure resourcing, scheduling, and vessel movements are planned and executed with consideration to 'on time & on budget' and 'best for business' principles;
Apply quality procedures and practices which ensure that all works are carried out to the applicable ISO standard and/or in accordance with the specification of the customer;
Timely and proper completion and filing of all QA documentation, reports, and any other certificates as required;
Adhere to any environmental and safety requirements;
Follow and comply with all company policies and procedures;
Support and promote WHS, E, S principles and practices, work with HSE to educate and enforce;
A large portion of the role will require the ability to problem solve; having a thorough understanding of systems on board the vessel will be important.
ABOUT YOU
Trade/Industry background in Fitting, Fabrication, Electrical or similar; Technical knowledge and understanding is imperative.
Previous Project Supervisor or Manager experience, ideally with defence or commercial maintenance and refits.
High financial acumen.
Strong Microsoft Office skills; Excel, Project, Word, Outlook.
Successful candidates will undergo a pre-employment medical and pass drug & alcohol screening.
