General/Business Unit Manager (CEO & General Management)
Due to an acquisition, this is the 2nd business we represent in the Cairns region and we are looking for an industry-experienced person from either a senior trades or management role (e.g., Operations Manager, Engineering Manager, Construction Manager, Sales Manager, Branch Manager, National Sales Manager, General Manager, or Managing Director).
$175k + super + 20% equity + dividends

About Us
This business operates in the Cairns and local region as a concrete construction company completing a wide scope of works, including commercial complexes, roadworks, treatment plants, wind farms, power stations, subdivisions, and warehouses.
Reporting to the board, you will leverage your experience in concrete and construction while contributing to the strategic development and operational oversight of the business. You will lead a team of approximately 15 staff members, driving profitable sales and ensuring the overall success of the company, which can increase to a casual pool of up to 40 contractors depending on the size and length of the project.
It's going to be an incredibly busy but exciting role where no two days will be the same. You will enjoy dealing with staff and understand key financials to ensure the business reaches its targets.
Tasks & Responsibilities
Lead strategic expansion efforts by developing and diversifying our network around Far North Queensland.
Drive growth initiatives and cultivate partnerships to leverage opportunities in the construction and civil infrastructure industry.
Develop and execute effective sales strategies to achieve revenue targets and maintain a competitive advantage.
Manage profit and loss responsibilities, analyze financial metrics, and implement cost-control measures to maximize profitability.
Provide advanced technical support and guidance to the rural and building industry and customers, ensuring confidence in our product quality and applications.
Collaborate closely with the board to establish strategic direction and align expansion efforts with company objectives.
Stay abreast of market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to inform product development and sales strategies.
Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the sales team, promoting collaboration and striving for excellence.
Qualifications & Experience
Established success in spearheading strategic expansion and business development within the construction or manufacturing sectors.
Robust financial acumen encompassing profit and loss (P/L) management, revenue growth acceleration, and cost efficiency maintenance.
Exceptional leadership capabilities focused on fostering collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within teams.
Proficient in analyzing market trends, identifying opportunities, and devising effective sales strategies to capitalize on market potentials.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills adept at cultivating relationships with key stakeholders, including the rural and building industry, customers, and the board.
Proactive approach with a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring product quality.
You will be required to have a proven track record in dealing with concrete from either the construction, mining, civil, commercial, or industrial sectors to ensure the overall management and direction of the company, along with the energy, drive, enthusiasm, and a sales and strategic financial focus.
