The Primary Care Business Council (PCBC) is a national membership body formed to advocate on critical issues impacting the sustainability of primary care from the perspective of General Practice operators. The PCBC's members facilitate over 24 million patient visits every year at nearly 800 General Practices across Australia, supporting 4,800 General Practitioners.
There is a shared commitment to ensuring General Practice is an attractive and vibrant service that delivers timely access to primary healthcare for all Australians, now and into the future. The members of the PCBC are practice owners, playing a vital and integral role in the delivery of primary care and are positioned to advise and affect meaningful change. The PCBC's position means that they have insight and informed data from a cross-section of providers across the country, and the ability to identify trends and accurately forecast changes occurring within the sector and their impacts.
The PCBC's purpose is to use this data to inform and collaboratively work with Government and other industry bodies to deliver significant and sustainable evidence-based improvements to primary care that maintain patient access and help ease pressure on the broader healthcare system.
The Role Reporting to the Board, the inaugural Managing Director will lead the development and execution of organisational strategy; support ongoing government and industry engagement; manage compliance and governance, and represent the PCBC in the media.
The Board will be looking for a Managing Director to be a leader, strategist, builder, collaborator, with business acumen and political nous to thrive in the role. You will be fully versed in the healthcare landscape, preferably in general practice. You will provide strategy and advocacy for the PCBC to Federal and State Government and relevant regulatory bodies. The Managing Director will play a key role in growing the membership base and revenue streams.
You will be able to demonstrate that you are member focused and can act as an advocate for members and on behalf of members with stakeholders, while remaining committed to getting the best outcome for members today and into the future. You may have experience in leading an industry-based membership organisation, or within Federal or State Government.
This role is 4 days per week, with the ability to work flexible hours as required. Preferred location Canberra or Sydney, with regional and interstate travel as required.
