Manager, Travel Management Unit

An exciting role as Manager within the Travel Management Unit within Finance, Corporate Services of the Department of Housing, Local Government, Planning and Public Works. The Travel Management Unit provides a range of travel services to the department.
What you will be doing
• Manage a team of travel administrators to ensure that they can effectively and efficiently support the department in delivering its program of work.
• Manage the lifecycle of travel policy and procedures development and review, ensuring they align with the whole of government policies and strategic direction of the department.
• Lead research, analysis and improvement activities and provide expert advice on travel issues affecting travel systems and operations.
• Manage maintenance and administration functions for a range of travel systems including user access, master data creation and modification, system configuration, audit and exception reporting.
• Engage with Queensland Government Procurement and manage vendor relationships, undertake contract management and manage the maintenance, reconciliation and payment of departmental Travel Accounts.
• Manage overseas travel approval requests and reporting processes for the department.
• Provide training and a travel support service to a network of travel bookers, approvers and travellers.
• Manage and maintain the intranet content of departmental travel services for use by departmental employees.
• Manage and maintain travel forms and user support resources ensuring they accurately reflect system enhancements and department structural changes as required.
• Develop and maintain data analytics and insights to monitor and influence travel behaviours.
Engage in change projects of the travel function as required.
