$122,830 to $130,115 pa (Level 9) plus 14% superannuation

About the role The Curriculum & Quality Office is responsible for the transformation of learning and teaching at the University through learning innovations, with an emphasis on expert pedagogy, instructional design, quality and digital technologies to enhance the student learning journey and meet the University's Objects and strategic direction as a Catholic university.
The position is responsible for the development and delivery of programs and initiatives to support students from underrepresented cohorts across the student lifecycle. This position will provide leadership, maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders and partners, and offer strategic advice on matters relating to student equity.
Key Responsibilities Establish the development and implementation of university-wide strategies to support student equity.
Assist in leading the portfolio to develop, coordinate and implement strategies for the delivery of student equity programs and initiatives targeting prospective and current students from identified underrepresented cohorts and schools.
Provide key strategic advice to the Head of Curriculum along with the Director Student Experience, the Director (Pathways), and the Academic Registrar.
Apply an extensive and in-depth knowledge to provide key strategic advice at key University forums which address student equity and access issues.
Implement delivery models that effectively manage high-volume demand and optimise the use of specialised skills and knowledge of Office staff.
Maximise the use of contemporary technologies and systems to further improve engagement with prospective and current students in under-represented cohorts.
Review research and policy development in relevant national and international equity and access initiatives to disseminate best practice models and advice throughout the University.
Establish and build strong relationships with key University stakeholders and provide professional advice to other outreach providers, as well as academic and professional areas supporting student equity.
Develop and implement evaluation and quality control mechanisms to ensure the delivery of high-quality services and resources.
Develop and implement strategies for income generation to student equity programs through developing proposals, funding submissions and high quality promotional material.
Coordinate required reporting on program outcomes and strategies as related to funding acquittals.
Qualifications, skills & experience Postgraduate qualifications and extensive relevant experience, or extensive management experience and proven management expertise, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
Extensive management experience in the strategic development of equity and access initiatives, preferably gained in a university environment or similar large and diverse organisation.
Demonstrated leadership experience in a role that includes team and project leadership and the management and development of people.
Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills with the ability to consult at all levels and develop strong internal and external relationships with stakeholders from diverse backgrounds.
Excellent planning, organisational and project management skills including demonstrated ability to contribute to long term planning and key strategic direction.
Ability to develop and manage a budget.
Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment with a willingness to support others and embrace new responsibilities.
Demonstrated ability to analyse and interpret complex data, present findings and advocate positions to Senior and/or Executive management/committees.
Proficient computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, email, online collaboration and project management tools and common software applications.
In-depth knowledge and understanding of the Australian tertiary and school education sectors, particularly relating to students and equity.
