Manager - Shepparton Harness Racing Club Shepparton Harness Racing Club is the major club in Northern Victoria conducting approximately 52 harness race meetings each year almost exclusively on a Tuesday night as well as weekly trials. In addition, the Club is a major training venue with up to 150 horses working daily on the Club's three tracks from stables located on the adjacent Club freehold land.
The racing complex at Kialla is shared with Shepparton Greyhound Racing Club and is a premier racing facility in regional Victoria.
The successful candidate will work closely with a small team in all aspects associated with the running of the Shepparton Harness Racing Club racing program, trials, training, and events.
The successful applicant will continue the strong progress of Shepparton Harness Racing Club and will manage the racing operations and oversee the business operations reporting to the Chairman and Board of Directors of the Club.
To be considered for the position you will have the ability to forge effective working relationships at all levels including industry bodies, industry participants, sponsors, and members.
Excellent leadership, communication, organisational, and management skills are essential as well as knowledge of and genuine interest in the harness racing industry.
The Shepparton Manager is responsible for, but not limited to:
Attendance at race meetings & trialsLiaison with Harness Racing Victoria in relation to nominations and race programmesAsset management & compliance – track equipment, building & grounds infrastructure and liaison with service providersManaging full-time, part-time & casual staffAdministration tasks, including accounting, compliance, membership, lease & licensing, oversee ITPreparation of Board Meeting agendas & minutes and attend Board Meetings, compliance for AGMLiaison with industry participants including owners, trainers, driversCompany SecretaryDrive new sponsorship opportunities whilst maintaining existing stakeholder relationshipsOrganisation of recruitment processesThis position also requires you to have:
