Manager RD&E Program Performance and Impact As one of the world's leading grains research organisations, the Grains Research and Development Corporation (GRDC) plays an integral role in driving research outcomes and innovations that directly benefit the Australian grain industry.
We are seeking a Manager RD&E Program Performance and Impact based in Canberra, Toowoomba, Perth or Adelaide. This new role is responsible for monitoring and evaluation of the effectiveness and impact of agricultural research, development and extension (RD&E) for Australia's largest Rural R&D Corporation with a portfolio encompassing over $1billion of grains RD&E.
Responsibilities
Lead and co-ordinate the assessment of a diverse portfolio of grains RD&E projects and programs, working with the operations and RD&E business groups to design, implement and track fit-for-purpose monitoring and evaluation (M&E) activities, building capability and improving systems and processes aligned to best practice and reporting requirements.
Oversee GRDC RD&E project and program-level M&E activities, ensuring they may be aggregated to support assessment of overall performance against the GRDC 5-year RD&E Plan.
Provide independent advice and recommendations regarding the effectiveness of RD&E projects and programs, co-ordinating with RD&E investment managers to ensure robust and un-biased assessment.
Lead the design, development and continuous improvement of methods, processes, procedures and systems used to monitor, evaluate, quantify and report the economic, social and environmental benefit of GRDC RD&E investments.
Engage and collaborate with stakeholders across the organisation to drive buy-in, support effective implementation and ensure compliance to best-practice M&E processes and systems, in adherence to the Council of Rural R&D Corporations Impact Assessment Procedures & Guidelines.
Develop business guidelines and training materials to support implementation and build internal capability.
Candidate Profile:
Tertiary qualifications in a related field, with professional certification in M&E highly desirable.
5+ years relevant experience in monitoring and evaluation of RD&E programs, ideally in the planning and delivery of robust performance and/or impact assessments of large, complex, multi-year agricultural RD&E projects and programs.
The capacity to think strategically and an ability to influence, motivate and develop others.
Highly developed presentation, interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to cut through with concise, informed recommendations and advice to inform decision making.
A proven track record in data analysis and impact reporting.
Strong commercial acumen, ideally with private sector experience.
Mandatory Requirements:
Must be prepared to travel as and when required.
Must be willing to undergo all Pre-employment Medical checks.
Must have a valid Australian Driver's Licence as deemed necessary.
