This role is a Permanent position DIDO to our Worsley Aluminum Refinery, which is located a short drive from the community of Collie (20 minutes), Bunbury (45 minutes), and Pinjara (1 hour).
As the leader of the Worsley HR function, and member of the Worsley Leadership Team, this role leads a team of business partners providing strategic support to leaders in making good people decisions across the employee lifecycle, and ensuring alignment to the South32 people strategy. This includes a focus on building strong teams, influencing employee relations, and driving the South32 culture.
Reporting to Senior Manager HR Group Functions, you will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:
Leadership Accountabilities
Lead, influence and make decisions that improve performance within the team (locally).Input into business strategies and organisational policies to enable the people agenda across Worsley and more broadly South32 and inform the thinking of the COE teams.Lead the local HR team to ensure deliverables can be met in line with the people agenda.Select, develop, coach employees – build experience and capability by creating meaningful development opportunities.Facilitate, evaluate, and provide guidance on all facets and programs of the employee life cycle including performance reviews, workforce planning, talent and succession planning, culture.Provide high quality industrial and employee relations advice and services, managing and resolving issues as they arise.Coach leaders to manage their people effectively and consistently.Business Partner at a leadership team level to develop the local people initiatives, including identify the people implications of strategic and business plans and other developments.ABOUT YOU
You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:
Significant experience in industrial relations with a sound knowledge of industrial and employee relations theory, principles, policies and practices within a heavy industry contextGeneralist HR experience and a proven record of being able to influence line leadership.Excellent negotiation, influencing and persuasion skills. Able to effectively and creatively challenge people, situations and current thinking.Skilled and credible in advising others on empowering people management.Qualifications for this position are:
Relevant degree or appropriate experience (preferable in HR/IR Organisational Behaviour, Change Management,)(5-10) years leadership experience in relevant field in the resources industrySouth32 is committed to building and maintaining an inclusive and diverse workforce that reflects the communities in which we operate.
