About the Team Our Operations team works with a diverse customer base to support several nationally significant supply chains. With management responsibility spanning across five states, our 8,500km rail network is used to transport bulk products, passenger and general freight, including steel and a vast array of consumer items such as groceries, electrical goods and other items for both import and export markets.
The Operations teams work within several complex and challenging environments, including some of the busiest rail corridors in Australia to deliver safe, efficient and sustainable service delivery outcomes for its customers, stakeholders and the community.
About the Opportunity ARTC is currently completing a $100m investment strategy of heavy rail plant (tampers, regulators and rail rakes) to service the maintenance requirements across the ARTC Network, with imminent delivery in 2024 through to 2026. Your appointment will be critical for ARTC to lead and manage both new capital investment heavy plant and existing fleet, including design of processes and procedures to enable efficient and effective asset utilisation.
Over time and through maximising operational availability and utilisation, you will partner with the General Manager Asset Services to identify revenue growth strategies servicing rail networks throughout Australia.
Specific accountabilities will include: Develop the required systems (including organisational design) to enable the Heavy Plant Strategy to meet its core objectives for ARTC internal customers. Lead and direct the delivery of the maintenance programmes across ARTC that utilise internal heavy rail bound plant. Effectively manage the delivery of the works programme to minimise disruption to customers. Manage the heavy plant annual works programme to ensure value for internal customers and to achieve budget outcomes for internal customers. This role is available to be based in either Adelaide or Newcastle. About You As a critical appointment to the broader asset services leadership team, it is expected that you are able to demonstrate a career track record achievement, embrace accountability and have a continuous improvement mindset. Ideally, you will have exposure to a heavy rail environment where asset utilisation and operations execution are key deliverables.
