Government - State (Government & Defence) In the role of Manager (Emergency Management) , you will lead a team of three professionals to focus on the state-wide coordination of TMR's emergency management plans and practices. You will be accountable for:
Responsibilities of the role: Ensuring the department is well positioned to meet its responsibilities under the Queensland Disaster Management Act 2003. Ensuring departmental teams are prepared for disruptive events and plans for continuity of business and disruptive events response are developed in line with assurance frameworks. Engaging with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders to support and enhance the resilience of the transport network. Leading and influencing change/change management practice and processes for the development and implementation of an emergency management culture. Enhancing continuity and emergency management understanding and capability across the department. We're looking for: Demonstrated ability to lead a high performing team, drive accountability and quality outcomes. Strong stakeholder collaboration, engagement, and negotiation skills. Ability to communicate with influence to increase adoption of best practice emergency management approaches. Experience in collaborating and engaging business areas to embrace change. Experience in application of risk-based approaches and consequence management. Mandatory requirements: A criminal history check will be undertaken prior to appointment to the role. Applicants must hold a current drivers license. Applicants can be required to work outside standard hours or on a 24/7 on call roster due to the nature of the business. The availability to contribute to the roster to perform the 24/7 watch function.
