Our Economic Development and Visitor Economy unit plays a leading role in attracting business growth to the Shire, supporting existing businesses and supporting our visitor economy. The role leads an outward facing team who work across different levels of government and directly with our community and businesses.About youAs part of the Senior Leadership Team, you will be someone who is able to provide cross-organisational input and solutions, utilising your relationship management skills and commitment to organisational values. You will lead the unit to identify and facilitate investment opportunities in the local and regional economy, and lead the design and implementation of key local visitor initiatives to increase the visitation experience in the Macedon Ranges.Working at Macedon Ranges Shire CouncilThe Macedon Ranges is located within an hour's drive of Melbourne to the south and Bendigo to the north via the Calder Freeway and the Bendigo-Melbourne Vline train service.There are approximately 5,000 businesses in the Macedon Ranges. A quarter of businesses are located in Kyneton, and a quarter in Gisborne. The majority of industrial activity in the shire is located in Kyneton.
