About the Team & the Position The Digital Division enables the delivery of AEMO's obligations through technology and improves outcomes for both internal and external stakeholders.
Digital provides services to internal AEMO business units, employees, contractors, subsidiaries such as AEMO Services Ltd, external government bodies and market participants.
The Digital Capabilities & Commercial department is accountable for common Digital delivery capabilities as well as shared services; commercial, partnering, testing, knowledge management, Digital training, delivery methods/ handbooks, supply resource management (BAU/ Projects), Enterprise Data Management.
Position Responsibilities Advise Digital cost centre owners on financial planning, budgeting, costing, accounting and charging using recognised accounting practices and standards.
Works with cost centre owners & the Finance Business Partner to develop and align on financial budgets, plans and forecasts.
Monitors and manages expenditure and examines areas where expenditure exceed agreed tolerances.
Analyses actual expenditure, examines variances, and advises on options in the use of available budget.
Manages the operational relationships with Digital suppliers and ensures potential disputes or conflicts are raised and resolved, including services (Digital Services Panel), software and hardware suppliers.
Manages implementation of Digital supplier service improvement actions.
Identifies constraints and opportunities when negotiating or renegotiating contracts.
In collaboration with relevant key stakeholders, defines the workforce planning approach for Digital in line with strategic business goals.
In collaboration with relevant key stakeholders, develops current-state assessment of workforce skills, capabilities and potential.
Forecasts future workforce demand and training for skills based on business plans and external factors.
Maintains the SFIA skills and capability inventory and identifies options for closing gaps in collaboration with relevant key stakeholders.
Position Requirements Skills & Experience: Strong experience in real time, business critical technology environments in a leadership role Demonstrable experience in contract management, process improvement and/or project management Demonstrable knowledge of IT budgeting, cost management, and financial planning to manage IT spending effectively.
Managing complexity and competing priorities.
Decision making in ambiguity.
Strong leadership experience and success in developing individuals and teams.
Building relationships and trust with all levels Managing budgets and controlling costs Risk awareness and management of risks within roles' control.
Education/ professional Certifications: Tertiary and/or post graduate qualifications in an appropriate commerce, accounting, business, or similar qualification Relevant security clearance as advised.
