The OpportunityProvide expert leadership and advice in Clinical Coding and clinical documentation for clinical coding to ensure the delivery of a high standard of service in keeping with the goals and objectives of Townsville Hospital and Health Service. Manage Clinical Coding staff in accordance with Human Resource and Industrial Relations guidelines.
Role RequirementsA degree in Health Information Management or a Diploma in Clinical Coding, or equivalent, is essential for this role.The ideal applicant will be someone who has proven ability and can demonstrate the following:
Demonstrated experience and expert ability in Clinical Coding and the International Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems, 10th Revision, Australian Modification (ICD-10-AM) and the Australian Classification of Health Interventions (ACHI) using the Australian Coding Standards (ACS).Demonstrated knowledge of activity-based funding and its relationship with diagnostic related groups, patient demographics, hospital admission, transfer and discharge data, and related processes relevant to funding optimisation.Demonstrated high-level problem-solving and organisational skills, with an ability to organise work and monitor targets to meet deadlines without direct supervision.Demonstrated experience and knowledge of quality improvement initiatives and in-depth knowledge of how accurate and timely data supports service delivery models.Demonstrated experience in educating and providing advice to clinical staff on all aspects of health information management, including the importance of correct documentation, information collection, reporting, and the requirement for accurate and timely information in evidence-based decision making.Remuneration PackageGenerous remuneration package value up to $148,322 p.a. comprising:
Salary range of $121,360 to $129,998 p.a.
