We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Team Lead to join our Operations Team, in Colac.
Reporting to the Maintenance Manger, the Maintenance Team Lead will be responsible for all types of maintenance, repairs and installation to a broad range of complex machinery and equipment, associated with Dairy Production and packaging industry.
In addition, you will carry out all Supervisory duties, as directed by the Maintenance Manager.
This includes issuing work orders, work instructions and supervision of other maintenance staff, ensuring all work is carried out following OH&S standards.
The Maintenance Team Lead also assists in managing operations to meet planned outcomes.
Your responsibilities will include: Performs high precision trade skills using various materials and specialised techniques.
Carries out all supervisory duties as directed by the Maintenance Manager or Site Lead.
Issues work orders, work instructions and supervision of other maintenance staff, ensuring all work is completed correctly and on time.  Fill in for the Maintenance Manager when absent or on annual leave.
Ensure all work is completed within the guidelines of the O H & S regulations including Lock Out/Tag Out and work permit procedures and paperwork.
Assists and leads the maintenance staff with breakdown and general factory maintenance.  This includes removing and installing electric motor and gearbox bearings, maintains and repair mechanical transmission assemblies and pumps, general factory pipe work, installations and fabrications, lubrication of production equipment and running adjustments to production machinery.
Utilises hydraulic and pneumatic circuitry techniques to examine, maintain, diagnose, repair and modify production and packaging equipment that uses fluid power or electro-fluid power control systems.
Installs and maintains all mechanical, electro-mechanical, electro-pneumatic and electro-hydraulic production equipment.
Promote Safety, Quality and Process within the business Has the authority to delegate work to other maintenance employees.
Has the authority to implement and ensure all safety procedures meet or exceed company standards.
Can stop any machine that is deemed unsafe or detrimental to the machine by allowing it to operate.
You will have: Hold a general engineering class 1 C10 trade's certificate in fitting and machining, electrical or any other associated trades certificate, or correct number of modules to relate to a C8 trades classification or demonstrate capabilities to this level.
Ability to manage time, set priorities, plan and organise work for employees to meet maintenance and production schedules.
Ability to comply with current standards of O H & S, hygiene and quality assurance and ensure these are followed by all maintenance personnel.
Ability to work effectively, individually and to lead a team.
Availability for work – standard hours, overtime, Saturday morning work, on call etc as appropriate.
Basic computer techniques and record keeping skills.
Ability to read and understand hydraulic and pneumatic circuitry, which control fluid power systems.
The Team Lead will have the ability to effectively communicate with employees and be able to positively influence individuals and teams.
