The ideal candidate would be responsible for: Management of a diverse Maintenance Team.Ensure maintenance KPIs and targets are achieved.Maximise plant operational availability and uptime.Ensure the processing plant complies with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, and all relevant South African National Standard requirements.Driving the planned and preventative maintenance program.Ensure maintenance work is performed at a high operational efficiency standard.Ensure maintenance department and teams perform effectively and efficiently, measured according to the 20 Keys continuous improvement program.Review SOPs and ensure artisans are trained and that they work safely.Review critical spare part requirements and ensure stock is available.Report, and make recommendations for improvement on poor-performing machines.Implementation and management of efficiency improvement projects in the Engineering and Maintenance department.Daily interaction with various departmental andinter-group role players in management level.Prepare departmental budgets, and control and manage expenses.Planning, costing, and execution of capital projects.The successful candidate must meet the following requirements: NQF 6 qualification in the Mechanical or Electrotechnical Engineering field.Minimum 5 years of Management experience.Experience in a Poultry Processing Plant or Fast Moving Consumer Goods facility.Experience and understanding of Ammonia refrigeration.Experience in Project Management and the ability to work with engineers from diverse engineering disciplines.Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint).Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Good understanding of PLC systems;Valid Code 8 Driver's license and own reliable transport;A good comprehension of a second official language would be advantageous.Enthusiastic, energetic and self-motivated with the ability to meet strict deadlines.Long-term ambitions to qualify for General Certificate of Competency (advantageous);
