Derwent Industries is a 100% Australian owned and operated business and prides itself on providing its customers with products, service and solutions to meet their expectations.Derwent has offices located in Hobart, Melbourne, Sydney, Wodonga, Auckland and Bendigo.Their facility in Bendigo produces high integrity steel castings for the mining and transport industries and various engineering applications.We are seeking to employ a Qualified Maintenance Manager at our Foundry in Bendigo.Reporting to the Plant Manager, the duties of the role include (but are not limited to):Contribute to the creation and implementation of best practice maintenance strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve operational performance.Schedule both internal and external work(s) optimising planned outages and reducing unplanned downtime.Manage the team to ensure machine availability, reliability and communication with relevant manufacturing personnel.Ensure that designated buildings, plant and facilities are fit for purpose and to provide proactive support/solutions when required.Manage the process of the introduction of new machinery, plant and equipment from specification, managing suppliers through to full installation in collaboration with all relevant parties.Produce written reports and make presentations.Conduct risk assessments of processes and tasks in the department.Manage contractors on site to ensure they meet legal and company requirements.Manage, coach and develop a high performing Maintenance team that meets agreed objectives and which delivers best practice results, added value and continuous improvements.Set department objectives/KPI's and review and assess ongoing performance of direct reports.Input and hold responsibility for maintenance budgets.Prepare the annual maintenance budget and forecasts and all capital expenditure proposals.Liaise and communicate with other departments, customers, suppliers and other service providers.Support and ensure compliance to Health and Safety regulations, Company handbook, Quality and Environmental standards and all other company policies and procedures.Proactively contribute to creating a good team culture.Focused and target driven with a positive, can-do attitude.The successful candidate must possess the following attributes:Trade/Engineering qualifications.Excellent leadership and personnel management skills.Excellent interpersonal skills.Competent in problem solving, team building, planning and decision making.Preventative maintenance planning and scheduling experience.Experience in quality control and familiarity with continual improvement processes.Experience with computerised maintenance systems.Proven analytical, diagnostic and problem solving skills.Excellent English communication skills – both oral and written.Ability to set priorities and accomplish tasks within tight timelines.Electrical experience and or qualifications not essential but desirable.Ability to interpret drawings.Knowledge of relevant acts, regulations and standards.Remuneration will be negotiated with the successful applicant, based on qualification, skill level and experience.
