Salary: £34,000 - £36,000 DOE
Employer Pension Contribution: 4% (increased to 5% with set off)

Skills
Time served joiner preferably with generic experience in other building trades
Experience with hand tools and joiners workshop equipment
Experience and ability to work plant and machinery; tickets would be an advantage
Experience in managing health and safety in a construction environment
Ability to read and work off prepared construction drawings
Ability to work on your own initiative and motivate a team to progress tasks efficiently and effectively
Full UK drivers licence

Strathmore Estates manages the historic estates of the Earl's of Strathmore & Kinghorne. Located at Glamis, Angus the estate amounts to 14,500 acres, comprising the tourist attraction Glamis Castle, let properties, an in-house farm department, forestry department, sporting department, and an in-house maintenance team. The estate includes approximately 105 residential houses and a range of commercial and agricultural buildings, along with infrastructure such as roads, bridges, and water supplies that require management.
This new role has been created due to an increased emphasis on the management and maintenance of the built infrastructure on the Estate. While the focus will be on joinery work, we seek a tradesman who can collaborate with the Buildings and Infrastructure Manager to efficiently implement a successful reactive and proactive repairs program and manage the maintenance team.
The role will include the following tasks:
Renovation of derelict cottages including 1st fix and 2nd fix works
Installation of kitchens and bathrooms
Measuring and fitting of windows and external doors, including undertaking minor repairs
Minor repair works in a range of property types
Daily management of the maintenance team, inspiring and motivating while ensuring adherence to policies and procedures
Worksite Health & Safety procedures
Collaboration with the Buildings and Infrastructure Manager to prioritize and effectively plan work based on available resources
Identification of problems such as leaking roofs/pipes and resolution
Drain clearance
Stone and external wall repairs
Fencing, hanging gates, and stone dyke repairs
Maintenance of private water supplies
Cleaning gutters and downpipes
