Independent Living Villages (ILV) is a not-for-profit disability housing organisation based in metro Sydney. Providing housing, primarily for those funded through the NDIS, ILV is a resident focussed, outcome driven organisation looking for a Maintenance Coordinator. This is a key role with responsibility for proactive and reactive maintenance across the portfolio.
About ILV ILV was established in 2016 as a not-for-profit disability housing provider. Primarily focussed on Specialist Disability Accommodation funded through the NDIS, ILV has grown since inception to now servicing almost 100 residents. Whilst seeking growth, ILV is heavily invested in outcomes for its residents ensuring they are happy in their home, happy with ILV and happy with their SIL provider. ILV has a small, high performing, client focussed team and is looking for a Maintenance Coordinator to join them based out of Parramatta.
About the Role The Maintenance Coordinator has responsibility for all preventative and reactive maintenance, including essential services across the ILV portfolio. The ideal person will have a trade background and be able and willing to complete jobs themselves whilst coordinating other trades for larger jobs or where a specialist/licensed trade is required. 
This role is available for an immediate start.
Key responsibilities include:
Being the first and primary point of contact for maintenance issues  Communicating with support workers, residents, family members and team members  Conducting routine, ingoing and outgoing inspections Maintaining records of maintenance activities, processing invoices and keeping thorough records  Performing general maintenance duties across our disability housing portfolio Coordinating all maintenance tasks including engaging and managing external trades Undertaking risk assessments and fire drills Helping to promote a safe environment across our portfolio and reporting issues to other team members where required Building relationships with SIL providers, support workers, residents, families and guardians General administration including record keeping, updating databases and providing regular reports About You The right person for this role will have a solid understanding of maintenance and facilities management, ideally in a community services environment such as disability housing, aged care, community housing or childcare. You will ideally have a trade background and direct experience as a maintenance officer or handyperson. You will be a good communicator, able to communicate with people from various backgrounds and an understanding of communicating with people living with disability. 
To be successful as the Maintenance Coordinator, you will:
Have excellent communication and time management skills and high attention to detail Be enthusiastic, creative and think outside the box, you will be a problem solver You will have demonstrated experience building effective relationships with clients and other stakeholders You will have the ability to work well with others but want to own the role and make it yours You will be people focussed, putting people at the centre of all that you do Have solid administration skills, keeping good records and able to juggle many moving parts Have a trade background and direct experience in a maintenance or handyperson role and be willing to get your hands dirty completing maintenance jobs yourself Have previous experience in community services, disability or aged care Possess relevant education and qualifications  Have your own vehicle This role is full time employed under the SCHADS award (Level 4 Pay Point 1), based out of Parramatta but offering flexibility to work from home on a regular basis. You will be required to travel to our properties, currently spread throughout metro Sydney, on a very regular basis. You must have full unrestricted Australian working rights.
