Logistics Manager - Pacific

Overview We currently have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Logistics Manager to lead our logistics and supply chain team and support our Pacific business, based in our brand new, modern warehouse in South Granville, Sydney (with on-site secure car parking).

As a key member of the Pacific Management team, you will manage our staff and operations for Australia and New Zealand in the purchasing, receiving, storing, dispensing, transferring and/or shipping of materials in compliance with all regulations and procedures. You will also partner with all key stakeholders in the company to ensure top of the class fulfillment and budget management.

How You'll Make an Impact: Inventory Ensure that goods are stored within defined time parameters and in appropriate storage conditions. Ensure that customer orders are picked and packed promptly and accurately, in proper shipping condition, within nominated timeframe. Ensure all consignments are picked up by the transport company at designated time. Be responsible for integrity of all inventories in warehouse. Ensure that cycle count and stock-take are completed as required. Manage Inventory to ensure Audit compliance. Warehouse Operations Ensure the warehouse is clean, tidy and compliant with Bio-Rad SOP and ISO standard. Select appropriate method of transport with regard to correct shipping conditions, freight costs and customer delivery requirements. Maintain the warehouse in a cost-effective manner and within any predefined budgetary constraints. Other responsibilities assigned by the Logistics Leader outside the normal duties. Customer Service Work closely with sales and customer service staff to meet purchasing and delivery requirement of customers, measure and report on performance. Ensure that stock receipts and inventory adjustment are completed on time and accurately. Organizational Talent Select, on board, manage, review performance and take appropriate action discipline and terminate staff, in conjunction with the Logistics Leader. Coach, mentor and develop staff to build an effective team. Ensure company policies and guidelines are implemented. Ensure all staff meets predefined goals. Workplace Health & Safety Ensure a safe working environment for all staff. Ensure that staff that pack and ship dangerous goods have and maintain current accreditation and comply with all legal requirements. Ensure safe handling of all dangerous goods and hazardous products. Ensure Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is available to cover all eventualities. Participate and as Chairperson of the EHS committee. Quality Control Ensure compliance to the QA manual and processes. Comply with relevant codes, quality control as well as the Bio-Rad quality manual to ensure correct dispatch and receiving procedures are adhered to. Create and maintain procedures and work instructions appropriate to carrying out warehouse, inventory and purchasing tasks. Ensure all staff are trained in current procedures and work instructions and that training is updated and recorded. Purchasing Manage the purchasing of the Distribution related items. Ensure suppliers are monitored and assessed according to procedures. Management Reporting Implement, monitor and manage key performance indicators for the Pacific operations. Provide weekly and monthly reports and statistics on operational and financial performance for operational analysis; What You Bring: Comprehensive knowledge of warehousing & transportation issues, with solid capability in the logistics arena, background in a strong customer-oriented organization where success has been driven by cutting-edge thinking/results. Display Leadership that is fair, consistent, caring, engaging and motivating in line with the organization's culture; A proven record of working successfully in the design and implementation of value-added processes; someone who has been involved in complex projects where success is a result of pulling various components together in a unified direction. Comfort with/exposure to technology, not a technologist, but someone who understands the impact of applications on warehousing & transportation processes. A person who can effect change. Someone with a bias for action and fortitude to challenge the status quo with a results-oriented sense of urgency, while approaching change with respect for the organization and its past. Willingness to travel when required to New Zealand, the regional HQ (Singapore) and the global HQ (California). Willing to be hands-on whenever needed. Technical Diploma or Degree in Science, Engineering or Supply Chain. Minimum of 10 years' experience managing multi-site logistics operations using SAP systems. Minimum of 10 years' experience managing a team of direct reports. Logistics, Transport, Distribution and Finance experience. Cold-Chain experience & in the Healthcare industry (Life Science and Diagnostics). 3PL management & outsourcing experience.
