LMS Energy is Australia's largest emissions reducer and the national leader in biogas-to-energy and solar on landfill. LMS requires the services of a full-time or part-time Electrical Engineer in Prospect, South Australia.
As part of our team, you will collaborate with the Mechanical - Electrical Engineering where your role will primarily involve designing and commissioning electrical power generation plants. This includes preparing protection and fault level studies and working with network operators on grid connection requirements. You will also design key ancillary equipment like switchgear, control panels, distribution boards, and communication systems. The role involves occasional interstate travel to support site operations and new projects. Strong communication and leadership skills and a high level of initiative and teamwork are essential to drive success including key project outcomes.

Responsibilities: Provide professional electrical engineering work in the planning, design, construction, operation, and maintenance of renewable energy power projects. Develop, mark-up, and/or modify electrical drawings such as single line diagrams, protection diagrams, control panel schematics, communication, and control systems using SCADA, PLC, and HMI using Modbus protocols. Undertake protection studies, load flow, and fault studies by using appropriate power systems analysis software. Compile relevant design documentation including design calculations of earthing and protection systems and cable sizing. Perform relay and fuse coordination studies and develop protection setting and parameter files. Prepare Scopes of Work and tender packs, equipment specifications and selections, data sheets, and instrumentation setting sheets. Design and selection of primary electrical plant including HV switchgear, transformers, and HV cables, and the design and selection of secondary systems including CTs, VTs, protection devices, and tariff metering. Requirements: A minimum of 5-8 years of electrical engineering experience. Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering. Australian Driver's License. Fitness for work to perform the job role safely and competently. Chartered Professional Engineer through Engineers Australia (desirable). Upholds LMS' company values and culture.
