About the Lifestyle Support Worker roleLifestyle Support Workers perform a rewarding role filled with variety!
No two days are the same as you support consumers to work towards their own, unique goals.
You may work with consumers in their homes to carry out activities like cleaning and organizing, preparing healthy meals, or maintaining a yard and generally making positive choices.
A key part of the role is supporting consumers to improve their confidence in accessing the community and engaging in activities that will help them achieve their goals.
You will also provide transport to and from activities, which could include shopping, going to the gym, attending social events, and appointments.
About the SIL Lifestyle Support WorkerAs a Supported Independent Living Lifestyle Support Worker, you will assist consumers with their daily tasks and activities to build life skills and connect with the community.
We are looking for individuals interested in working in Supported Independent Living.
These shifts vary with a combination of days, nights, evening shifts, including sleepovers and weekends.
Selectability is currently seeking individuals who would be interested in working predominantly night shifts in the supported independent living space.
Balancing work and personal commitments can be a challenge; whether you are pursuing further education or caring for loved ones during the day, having the flexibility of working a night schedule can assist in supporting your lifestyle.
About youTo be successful, you must:
have a positive attitudepossess clear and effective communication skillsdemonstrate computer literacy and accuracy in record managementhave experience working in a team environmentexhibit an ability to problem-solvebe able to follow policies and procedures at all timeswork effectively with culturally and linguistically diverse communities and individualsYou will also need:
a current minimum P1 "C" class Queensland driver's licencea currently registered, roadworthy, and fully comprehensive insured vehiclea Positive Notice Working with Children (blue card) (or the ability to obtain prior to commencement)a current yellow card exemption or an NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (or the ability to obtain prior to commencement)NDIS Worker Orientation Module 'Quality, Safety & You' completion certificate (visit to access this free module).
