About the Opportunity The Library Services Coordinator is responsible for providing leadership and coordination to Library Services' nine (9) branches in the Western Downs Region.
The role ensures that Library Services connect our residents to information, cultural and lifelong learning needs, and to other people in our communities.
This position can be based at one of our major centres (Tara, Miles, Chinchilla or Dalby).
You will: Leading, managing and inspiring the Library Services team to achieve the priorities of Council's Corporate Plan and Library Services Strategic Plan; Ensuring Library Services is customer focussed, meets present and future community reading, literacy and learning expectations, foster digital participation, and offers a memorable customer experience; Managing risk, budget, library collections and information technology resources and facilities associated with the Region's Library Services; Leading the analysis of and make recommendations on emerging trends in digital media, public & library programming and services to ensure library collection development, public programming and digital profile is responsive to evolving community needs and meets strategic goals and standards; Ensuring the effective provision of high quality and cost-effective library services and public programs; This role is full time, working 36.25 hours per week with a fortnightly RDO.
This role has the option of a compressed working roster.
About yourself A person in this position will need to hold a relevant degree or diploma in Library Services & Information or a related field, OR be able to demonstrate equivalent related experience.
It is also highly desirable for the successful candidate to have: Proven experience in the management of staff for the delivery of Library Services; A current Queensland C Class driver's licence; and Working with Children Blue Card is essential.
