Motivated and dedicated legal assistant with strong administrative and client-focused skills to support our legal team in Ballarat.
Full time ongoing position (part time considered) Salary based on experience, range: $59,877 - $76,425 (pro rata) plus super Up to $15,900 in salary packaging and hybrid WFH & office model About the role:
Victoria Legal Aid (VLA) is seeking an engaged Legal Assistant to join our legal team in Ballarat. Reporting to the Administrative Services Manager, you will work within a team of legal assistants to provide a broad range of legal administration support to our lawyers and the wider office including word processing, data entry, file management and reception services. Additionally, you will assist legal aid clients with general enquiries and work with external legal practitioners and community legal centres to ensure the needs of our clients are met.

Strong administrative skills, including excellent organization, prioritization, and the ability to work well under pressure. Demonstrated ability to provide client-focused services in a complex, confidential, and sensitive environment. Excellent interpersonal skills, enabling effective communication with diverse backgrounds. Proficiency in word processing and Microsoft Office suite. Proven commitment to collaborative teamwork.
