About the role:The overall purpose of the Learning & Development Specialist role is to support front line training and development services for Children Youth and Families services staff. This is a Permanent Full-Time position working 76 hours per fortnight based at our Eight Mile Plains office, with some travel to services across Queensland required.
Responsibilities: Design, deliver, and manage L&D programs and resources to meet compliance, operational, and strategic needs, incorporating expert knowledge and innovative methods.Develop and update training materials, including courses, workshops, and eLearning modules, aligned with best practice L&D frameworks and compliance requirements.Utilize Subject Matter Expert knowledge from direct field experience in child protection, counselling, and community services to inform and enhance L&D services.Deliver structured and integrated L&D services to Service partners, including training, capability assessments, and strategic advice, in line with Anglicare's Strategic Workforce Plan and Capability Strategy.Coordinate and conduct learning needs analyses and skill gap audits to identify and address Service-specific L&D requirements.Provide guidance on effective learning methodologies and tools, ensuring alignment with Service needs and legislative obligations.Foster a positive team environment by building strong relationships and providing proactive support to colleagues.Participate in staff meetings and contribute to discussions on improving work processes and outcomes.Qualifications, Credentials and Other Requirements: A relevant tertiary qualification (Degree in Behavioural or Human Services, Education, Training, or related field) and current professional registration.Current National Police Certificate.Current Queensland Driver License (required) with own reliable vehicle (preferred).Current Blue Card.Current Licensed Care Service (LCS).Ability to travel as required to designated service delivery areas across Queensland.Post graduate qualifications in Adult Education, Health, Human Services or similar (desired).Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (desired).About You: Experienced L&D Professional - Minimum of two years in a front-line L&D or education role, with advanced skills and expertise in service practice.Diverse Training Expertise: Proficient in designing and delivering a variety of training methodologies, including face-to-face, digital, experiential, and blended learning.High-Quality Training Delivery: Skilled in creating and delivering structured, end-to-end training programs, including mandatory and compliance training.Framework Implementation: Experienced in applying capability and practice frameworks through L&D activities and using evaluation methodologies.Technology Savvy: Proven track record in utilizing best practice L&D systems, client management tools, and relevant technology/software.Coaching and Mentoring: Significant experience advising, coaching, and mentoring staff and managers to enhance their development.Sector Knowledge: Extensive background in child and youth protection services with a deep understanding of trauma and current practices.Effective Communicator: Engaging and credible communicator with excellent presentation and facilitation skills, capable of building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.Why Join Anglicare?
