The Environment & Planning TeamThe E&P team possess deep industry expertise in all environment & planning matters, acting for local council authorities, developers, architects, town planners and more.
The practice provides advice across:

Environment assessment and approval

Climate change

Native vegetation

Native title and land rights

Compulsory acquisitions

Environmental investigations

Defending environmental prosecutions

Position DescriptionThe Sydney office are now seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic Lawyer to join the Environment & Planning team.
You will have the opportunity to engage in a wide variety of fast-paced and exciting work including:

Supporting and working with partners and the senior lawyers in the team in meeting clients' objectives and deadlines

Legislation and case law research

Drafting advices and planning agreements

Assisting in the day to day conduct of litigation matters, including Class 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 Land and Environment Court proceedings and Supreme Court proceedings

Providing advice and representation to clients in obtaining and implementing planning and environmental approvals

Assessing environmental impacts

Undertaking planning and environmental due diligence

RequirementsTo be successful, you will be a Lawyer with 2-4 years' post admission experience in environment & planning.
In addition, you will have:

A passion and a strong interest in Environment and Planning law, and in litigation

Excellent analytical, research and communication skills

Strong academic background

Good time management skills and ability to work well under time pressure

Great interpersonal skills and be able to work collaboratively with others in a team
