Reporting to the Operations Manager at Ulan Underground, this is a key role that will oversee, influence and manage the site compliance to legislative and corporate requirements.
In this role you will be responsible for: Inform, audit and review standards and procedures under site safety management system. Monitor and improve critical control practices associated with principal hazard management and control plans. Provide guidance for high-risk activities and incident notifications to the NSW Resource Regulator. Facilitate the development and maintenance of competency of mining and maintenance supervisors. Maintain a positive organisational culture through teamwork, personal commitment, and application of the company values. To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate has the following skills and experiences: Certificate of competency under the WHS legislation. Degree in Engineering or equivalent (related to the mining industry). High level of underground coal mining knowledge. Extensive operational experience in your field within the industry. Proven ability to influence and build relationships. Excellent understanding of current NSW WHS legislation.
