The section provides advice to insurers,reinsurers and corporates across various lines of insurance. We pride ourselves on delivering outstanding client service whilstmaintaining a healthy work/life balance.This rolewill focus primarily on defending compulsory third party( CTP ) claims on behalf of insurers, includingthose involving complex liability and quantum issues. Youwill be responsible for and have carriage of your own files, withappropriate supervision. The role may also involve otheraspects of insurance work, including personal injury/ publicliability, property damage (including recoveries) andindemnity.KeyresponsibilitiesThesuccessful candidate will be responsible for:reviewing documents andpreparation of chronologies;draftingcorrespondence to the Court and third parties;conferencing withwitnesses and preparing witness statements;preparing briefs forcounsel;draftingCourt documents and attending Court;draftingletters of instruction to experts; andlegalresearch.Skills andexperienceWe would liketo hear from candidates with the following skills andexperience:2– 4 years of post-admission experience in defendantinsurance law;ideallyyou will have experience in CTP, however we are also open tomeeting candidates with experience in personal injury/ publicliability, or property insurance (including recoveries, defenceand indemnity);we willalso consider candidates with experience representingplaintiffs;agenuine interest in contributing to the growth and success ofour insurance practice in Adelaide;clear,concise legal writing skills; andAboutusHall &Wilcox is a leading independent Australian law firm.
