About theRole: As a Senior Government RelationsOfficer, you will play a pivotal role in advancing theGovernment's priorities by conducting research, engaging withstakeholders, and providing strategic guidance and expert advice onparliamentary matters and Freedom of Information (FOI) requests.This role requires a proactive approach to managing Ministerialcorrespondence, ensuring accuracy and compliance with legislativerequirements. Key Responsibilities willinclude: Develop and manage keypartnerships to support Ministerial and departmentalobjectives. Provide expert advice onparliamentary, Cabinet, and FOI processes anddocumentation. Identify and implementprocess improvements to align with legislativerequirements. Coordinate andquality-assure CE and Ministerial correspondence, Cabinetsubmissions, and FOI documents. Facilitate effectivecommunication and collaboration acrossstakeholders. Represent the department onrelevant committees and working groups. Qualifications: Essential: Accredited and Non-accredited FOI Officer Online Training orcommitment to obtaining accreditation upon commencement. Desirable: Relevant tertiary qualification (including but not limited tocommunications, arts, economics, commerce, international business,law, public policy, business management, projectmanagement). SpecialConditions: The successful applicant isrequired to gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working withchildren check (WWCC) prior to being employed which is required tobe renewed every five years before expiry. The incumbent will berequired to undertake RRHAN –EC (Responding to Risks of Harm,Abuse and Neglect - Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass)extended course or the online (Fundamentals) course which will berequired to be updated every three years.  For all other Special Conditionsplease refer to the attached PositionDescription. Remuneration: ASO6: $97,022 - $102,626 perannum (1.0 FTE), plus superannuation.
