About the role As a Compliance Services Officer at Cardinia Shire Council, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring compliance with a wide range of local laws, covering areas such as Animal Management, Local Laws, and Planning Matters. This position offers a challenging yet highly rewarding environment where you will actively contribute to public safety and community well-being. You will be tasked with handling complex customer interactions through various channels, including field operations, front counter services, and telephone inquiries. Additionally, you will provide enforcement services related to parking, traffic, local laws, litter, building sites, planning matters, and animal management. Your flexibility and availability for a rostered "On-call" rotation and after-hours events will be essential to meet the demands of this role. About you To excel in this role, you must demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of relevant legislation, including the Domestic Animals Act, VCAT, EPA, Road Rules Victoria, Local Government Act. You should possess the ability to interpret and enforce these regulations effectively, ensuring compliance and upholding legal standards. A current Victorian driver's license is required. You will be able to demonstrate: The ability to deal humanely with stock and other animals to address public safety issues. Highly developed customer service and conflict resolution skills. A strong understanding and appreciation of Health & Safety guidelines to implement effective risk minimisation strategies. Proficient computer skills for documentation and reporting purposes.
