The RoleThe Environmental Division operates a modern commercial laboratory in Brisbane (Stafford) that's equipped with the latest in analytical technology.
We are seeking a casual Laboratory Technician to join our micro-biology team that strives to exceed client expectations by delivering quality results on time and maintaining strong relationships with clients.
Successful candidates may have just completed their TAFE Laboratory skills and are looking to utilize their practical laboratory experience in a working laboratory, or you may have worked in a repetitive, fast-paced environment where you have had to ensure accuracy.
Experience in hospitality or fast food, where you have juggled multiple tasks and followed processes is desirable.
The day to dayPreparation and analysis of water, and marine sediment samples for a variety of tests throughout ensuring that analytical procedures and associated tasks are conducted in accordance with the ALS Quality Work Instructions including QA/QC.Organising designated tasks to maximise daily efficiencies.Completing all tasks and analyses within both the time set down by the supervisor and the relevant analysis standard.Highlighting anomalies in results and sample type and sample behaviour.Preparation and analysis of microbiological samples.The essentialsMicrobiological experience desired but not necessary.Microscopy experience is also highly desirable.TAFE qualifications desirable.A desire to work in a high-throughput, client-focused environment, with preference given to those with previous commercial laboratory experience.Excellent attention to detail, organizational and time management skills.Dedication to good laboratory practices with regard to quality of results and health and safety.Flexibility to work public holidays and weekend shifts if required.Willingness to be cross trained in other sections of the laboratory.Dedication to go the extra mile, be solutions driven and ensure there is no compromise on quality.Working at ALSOur people drive our success at ALS.
