Position Overview: The position responsibilities of Senior Hydrologist (Lead Fluvial Geomorphologist) are to:
Manage multiple fluvial and coastal geomorphology projects that assess the forces that shape rivers and coasts.
This covers planning; execution; monitoring; reporting and communications; project close-out; and evaluation.Provide specialist scientific advice and support to clients and the Streamology team when assessing and reporting on waterway and coastal management issues.Identify opportunities and engage potential clients to secure fluvial and coastal geomorphology project work.Converse with clients at various levels of understanding regarding the problems we tackle.Assist collaboratively with both internal and external specialists in Hydrology and earth sciences.Preparation, research and supervising the production of technical reports.Use of the appropriate range of modelling tools and techniques including GIS and remote sensing, hydrologic and hydraulic modelling, Australian Rainfall and Runoff - QGIS, ArcGIS, TUFLOW, HECRAS, RORB.Key Capabilities: Bachelor's degree or higher in Hydrology, Geomorphology, Waterway and/or Coastal Management or related Science field.Minimum of 5 years of full time specialised experience working in the field of fluvial/coastal geomorphology or equivalent (Essential).Detailed knowledge and application of software such as GIS and remote sensing, hydrologic and hydraulic modelling - QGIS, ArcGIS, TUFLOW, HECRAS, RORB.Specialised additional certificate or short course in Fluvial or Coastal Geomorphology.Experience working in consultancy and management of the natural resource management industry (Essential). #J-18808-Ljbffr
