Our knowledge lawyers play a critical role in supporting the firm's lawyers and ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of legal services. Reporting to the Head of Knowledge the key responsibilities and requirements are:Responsibilities:Knowledge management strategy and governanceAssisting in developing and executing the firm's overall knowledge management strategy.Assisting to establish policies, standards, and governance processes for managing the firm's knowledge assets.Knowledge curation and disseminationOverseeing the maintenance and continuous improvement of the firm's knowledge management systems and repositories.Facilitating the discovery, capture, and sharing of knowledge across practice groups.Lawyer support and trainingProviding research and advisory support to lawyers on complex legal issues and practice-related queries.Designing and delivering CLE and training to educate lawyers on best practice, plain language drafting and the effective use of the firm's knowledge resources.Identifying strategic precedent drafting priorities (in conjunction with partners and other Knowledge team members)Creating high-quality knowledge products, such as precedents and best practice guides, and client alerts.Soliciting and curating knowledge contributions from subject matter experts to continuously expand the firm's knowledge base.Technology and process optimisationAssisting in selecting, implementing, and maintaining the firm's knowledge management technology stack.Stakeholder engagement and change managementCollaborating with team leaders, knowledge team members and other key stakeholders to align knowledge initiatives with their needs.Performance measurement and reportingDefining key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the impact and effectiveness of knowledge management initiatives.The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate the following:Australian qualified lawyer with a strong understanding of legal research and writing.Experience in drafting complex documents in plain language.Experience in designing and delivering interesting and innovative CLE and training programmes, targeted to the audience.Experience in precedent drafting and developmentExperience in or familiarity with automation of precedents and processes.Ability to build strong working relationships and foster open communication with partners and legal team members, and other business services teams for timely issue resolution.Openness to exploring new technologies, tools, and approaches to knowledge management.Capacity to think outside the box and challenge traditional ways of working.Commercial acumen coupled with a client orientated focus.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to liaise with internal and external clients professionally where required.Excellent legal research skills and strong attention to detail.Norton Rose Fulbright values diversity and strives to create an inclusive environment where all employees can bring their whole selves to work.
