About the Organisation Kimberley Aboriginal Medical Services LTD (KAMS) is a well-established regional Aboriginal community controlled health service, founded in 1986, which provides centralised advocacy and resource support for 6 independent member services, as well as providing direct clinical services in a further 6 remote Aboriginal communities across the region. KAMS has successfully delivered high-quality, accessible comprehensive primary health care services over its 30 years of operation and has provided innovation and national leadership in areas such as health information management and evidence-based best practice in primary health care. About the Opportunity Kimberley Aboriginal Medical Services LTD (KAMS) is seeking a KAHRA Project Coordinator - Knowledge Translation to join their team on a full time 6 months fixed term basis in Broome, WA. Reporting to the KAHRA Senior Manager , includes coordinating and supporting the Kimberley Aboriginal Health Planning Forum Research Subcommittee, making an important contribution to ensuring best practices in research conducted in the region. The Project Coordinator also facilitates dissemination and utilisation of a range of Kimberley Aboriginal health research project findings, including through regional forums and online networks to achieve the objectives of KAHRA. Some of your key responsibilities will include: Lead the Secretariat and Chair function that KAHRA provides for the KAHPF Research Subcommittee. Provide education and advice to people wishing to conduct research or evaluation projects in the Kimberley, communicating effectively in person, by phone and by email through the KAHPF Research Subcommittee email account Create and refine KAHPF Research Subcommittee processes that support best practices in research involving Kimberley Aboriginal people and communities,  with consideration of decolonising research and Aboriginal control Provide all relevant information to the KAHPF Research Subcommittee to enable well-informed decision-making by the Subcommittee Contribute to the development of the Kimberley Aboriginal Health Research Model ensuring alignment to KAHPF Research Subcommittee processes and KAHPF conditions To view the full position description, please click here. About You To be considered for this position you will have Tertiary qualifications and experience relevant to Community Development, Population Health, Epidemiology, Health Management or other Health-related qualifications with demonstrated research component . You will also have understanding of Kimberley Aboriginal communities and Aboriginal cultures and relationship-building skills and interpersonal skills, and the ability to maintain productive and effective relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders including Aboriginal communities and health services. Please note: In addition to the above skills and experience, the successful candidate will require a Current "C" class manual drivers licence, and either hold or be willing to obtain a National Police Clearance clearance prior to commencement.
