Long Description The T2 D Project is the final 10.5km section of the North-South Corridor, and will complete 78km of non-stop, traffic light-free motorway between Gawler and Old Noarlunga.
Drivers will be able to bypass 21 sets of traffic lights as they travel through two separate tunnels, connected by an open motorway.
A consortium comprising John Holland, Bouygues Construction, Arcadis Australia, Jacobs and Ventia preferred has been selected as the Alliance partner to deliver this project.
The scope of works of the T2 D project includes delivering all M&E systems for the project which include Power distribution, Fire Protection, Tunnel ventilation, Communications systems, ITS and the overarching Control Monitoring System.
Job Overview We are seeking a High Voltage & Substations Lead Engineer to oversee the design, procurement, and construction stages of 22k V Distribution substations for our T2 D project in Adelaide.
The ideal candidate will manage subcontractors responsible for the high voltage system design and ensure seamless coordination through the procurement and construction phases.
Key Responsibilities Project Management Lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of high voltage electrical systems for the design, procurement, and construction stages of the project.
Ensure all project milestones and deadlines are met.
Coordinate with other engineering disciplines, construction teams, and stakeholders to ensure integrated project delivery.
Design Management Manage the design subcontractor/consultant responsible for producing the design of high voltage systems and substations.
Review and approve design reports, documentation, and drawings prepared by our design subcontractor.
Ensure all designs comply with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
Procurement Management Develop specifications and requirements for high voltage system components and equipment.
Coordinate with the procurement team to ensure timely acquisition of necessary materials and equipment.
Evaluate and approve suppliers and vendors, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness.
Construction Management Oversee the implementation and installation of high voltage systems during the construction phase.
Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with design specifications, safety standards, and timelines.
Address and resolve any engineering issues or defects that arise during construction.
Quality Assurance and Compliance Implement and oversee quality assurance procedures to ensure all high voltage systems meet safety and performance standards.
Conduct regular inspections and audits of subcontractor work to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Address and resolve any engineering issues or defects that arise during the project.
Team Leadership Provide technical guidance, training, and support to team members.
Foster a collaborative and productive work environment.
About You Qualifications Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
Significant demonstrated experience in high voltage electrical engineering.
Extensive knowledge of high voltage systems, including design, procurement, and construction.
Strong understanding of electrical codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., NEC, IEC, IEEE), and specifically IEC 61850 standard.
Project management skills with experience leading large-scale construction projects.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
