The Memorial is undergoing a period of significant change, operating under modified arrangements associated with a complex, multi-year major construction and gallery development project.
To ensure the Memorial is well positioned to effectively deliver and operate the new galleries from late 2024, the Corporate Management Group initiated a business transformation program to plan for transitioning to the new work environment, as well as reviewing the current operating model to reflect a more contemporary organisation.
Reporting to the MET Program Manager, the IT Project Manager is responsible for the delivery of agreed and scoped projects, contributes to discussions on project budget and resources, and the day to day management of project deliverables including ensuring tasks are delivered on time and tracked. The position will also be required to identify and mitigate risks and issues for the project and communicate project status to stakeholders, including testing and closure reports.
This position will be available for up to a period of 12 months.
The key duties of the position include: Under general direction, the IT Project Manager will be responsible for:
Collaborating across IT teams (Web, Infrastructure, Applications Data, Change, Cyber security) to undertake project management activities including,Setting strategic plans to meet project goals Contributing to discussions to manage IT equipment resources for projects, such as computer equipment and employees Coordinating project team members and developing schedules and individual responsibilities Implementing IT strategies that deliver projects on schedule and within budget Ensuring tasks are progressed in line with agreed expectations; Ensure blockers to project progress are understood, managed and mitigated; Liaise with stakeholders to identify and report on project risks, conduct risk assessment and risk management activities as required; Report on project progress and status by developing targeted, concise project materials to ensure project progress and milestones are accurate, transparent and clear; Using a range of channels, communicate with internal and external The Memorial is committed to workplace diversity and maintains an environment that values the contribution of people from different backgrounds and experiences.
