Business Enabling Services Group / Shared Services Division / Client, Strategy and Enablement BranchAPS 6 ($94,434 - $115,254) | Ongoing | Full-timeCanberra, ACTABOUT THE BRANCH & SECTIONThe Service Delivery Office (SDO) is an organisational unit within the Department of Finance's Shared Services Division.Working in partnership across the Australian Government, the SDO delivers corporate transactional processing and technical services to 15 government entity clients, enabling them to focus on their core business.The SDO's Enterprise Resource Planning system provides clients with integrated functional business processes such as HR, financials, procurement and business intelligence reporting. The SDO operates on a continuous improvement basis to seek ongoing efficiencies and increase value for money for our clients.The SDO prides itself on its collaborative, supportive work environment where staff are actively encouraged to think innovatively to contribute to the development of shared service arrangements.A vacancy currently exists in the SDO's Client, Strategy and Enablement Branch, within the Client Strategy and Governance Team. The Team plays a key role in SDO governance, forward planning, decision making, risk management, client relationship management and SDO service optimisation.The Team's Project Delivery Office (PDO) works collaboratively with SDO clients to design responsive, client-centric, reliable and professional projects that can range from simple IT function upgrades to new, highly complex and politically sensitive systems.
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITYWorking in the PDO, you will be responsible for supporting and driving clients' projects and change initiatives and will provide an important conduit between the PDO and its clients.The Project Manager is responsible for:
Application of project management techniques to coordinate and monitor client-focused service delivery projects that meet both client and APS outcomes.Management of internal and external stakeholders to deliver system-related projects on time, in scope and in budget.Development and application of efficient strategies and tactics to ensure that all projects deliver fit-for-purpose solutions.Provision of verbal and high-quality written project status advice to internal and external governing bodies, including Project Boards.Provision of tactical, operational and strategic levels of engagement, decision making and advice through Project Workshops and other communication and engagement channels.Working collaboratively with other Project Managers within the PDO to ensure SDO resources are effectively allocated across projects.Maintenance and finalisation of project artefacts including project plans, statements of work, benefits realisation plans and other key documents.Making recommendations for continuous improvement in the PDO including sharing project management expertise, mentoring and training to other staff to build team capacity.ELIGIBILITY ADVICE & CANDIDATE NOTES Under section 22(8) of the Public Service Act 1999, employees must be Australian citizens to be employed in the Australian Public Service (APS) unless the Agency Head has agreed otherwise, in writing.Successful applicants will be required to undergo the process to obtain and maintain, or continue to hold the required security clearance level for the role as indicated in the downloadable job pack.We encourage and welcome applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, people with disabilities, LGBTQI+ people, people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and mature aged people.CONTACT INFORMATION For questions relating to the online lodgement of your application, please email the Recruitment team via or call between 8:30am - 5:00pm AEST Monday to Friday.For specific questions relating to this job vacancy, please refer to the details on the contact officer located in the downloadable job pack.#J-18808-Ljbffr
