Job Summary: We are seeking a proficient ITIL IT Asset Management Specialist to oversee the lifecycle of IT assets within our organization.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of ITIL principles and practices, particularly in the realm of asset management.
They will be responsible for implementing and maintaining effective asset management processes, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and procedures, optimizing asset usage, and minimizing unnecessary expenditures.
This role requires meticulous attention to detail, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate with various stakeholders across the organization.
Responsibilities: Develop and implement IT asset management policies, procedures, and best practices in alignment with ITIL standards.
Establish and maintain an accurate inventory of all IT assets, including hardware, software, licenses, and peripherals.
Track the lifecycle of IT assets from procurement to disposal, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to organizational guidelines.
Conduct regular audits and assessments to validate asset data accuracy and identify areas for improvement.
Collaborate with procurement, finance, and IT teams to optimize asset procurement processes, negotiate vendor contracts, and ensure cost-effective asset acquisition.
Monitor asset utilization and performance metrics to identify opportunities for optimization and cost savings.
Coordinate with IT service management teams to integrate asset management processes into service delivery workflows.
Provide guidance and support to stakeholders on asset management practices, including asset tagging, tracking, and retirement.
Implement tools and technologies to automate asset management processes and improve efficiency.
Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to IT asset management.
Must have Skills: Minimum of 8 years of experience in ITIL Minimum of 4 years of experience in IT asset management Proficiency in ServiceNow software.
Proficiency in IT asset management tools Strong understanding of hardware and software asset lifecycles, licensing models, and compliance requirements.
Experience in project management and process improvement methodologies is a plus.
Nice to have Skills: Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field.
ITIL Foundation certification or higher.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
Certifications such as Certified Software Asset Manager (CSAM) or Certified Hardware Asset Management Professional (CHAMP) are advantageous.
Due to the secure nature of the role, Australian citizens with a federal government security clearance will be preferred.
