Database Development & Administration (Information & Communication Technology) TasPorts is a state-owned company responsible for ten Tasmanian ports and the Devonport Airport. The Role Reporting to the Interim Head of Data and Digital Solutions, the Integration and Data Specialist role is to advance TasPorts capability & capacity to integrate systems and manage data and perform robust, accurate, efficient and timely analysis and reporting. This includes the delivery of continually improving information and data services supporting the organisations financial and operational reporting activities, promoting information sharing between internal and external business stakeholders and ensuring the efficient and stable operation of TasPorts information technology management systems.
This role is based in the TasPorts Corporate Office, Hobart. What are we looking for? You will work autonomously and be required to exercise independent judgement in maintaining the usability and integrity of the information technology management systems. Effective communication and interpersonal skills need to be applied to determine user problems and to offer workable and timely solutions.
Develop, maintain and administer the data analytics software, integration systems and processes required by the organisation's operational and corporate departments. Develop, test and maintain data and analytics architecture as well as associated reporting databases and processing systems, understand emerging data engineering opportunities to maintain contemporary best practice of the data integration platforms, and data stores within TasPorts ICT environment. Analyse, design, test and document business and functional data requirements. Undertake the resolution of data systems issues - including resolutions of user errors, liaison with vendors or service providers and coordinate the implementation system changes and upgrades. Provide authoritative knowledge and advice of data flow design techniques to assist continual development and advancement of TasPorts data related capabilities. Manage integration of data into analytical and business operational systems, including data design and modelling, user acceptance testing, good practice workflows, and development of user guides and training as required. High level skills and experience and contemporary knowledge in all aspects of information technology data management systems with the proven ability to manage data and to produce high level financial and operational reports. Significant hands on experience in the implementation, maintenance and/or support of data repositories and data platforms in a large complex ICT environment. A minimum of 5 years of recent industry experience including developing and supporting middleware and other industry integration platforms, and data warehouse and reporting solutions across cloud-based and on-premises environments. An analytical mind, sound logic and an aptitude for solving technical problems, including the ability to apply knowledge and experience in data engineering in order to identify opportunities for improved application and integration solutions to support business data driven outcomes. High level communication and training skills with the ability to effectively problem solve and offer support and advice to users as problems arise. Demonstrated expertise in contemporary data management and integration patterns used to provide solutions for internal, partner and customer-facing data driven processes. Experience in project management methodologies, agile development practices, and the administration of cloud and web platform services. Qualifications Relevant tertiary qualification in Information Technology or similar. Ability to obtain and hold a Maritime Security Identification Card. Experience in an Infrastructure / Ports based organisation. Why work for us?
