Providing Individual Placement and Support (Employment) for Ruah clients as part of a multidisciplinary team within the Mental Health and Wellness Service.

Our mission is to open hearts and make bold strides. This position will provide Individual Placement and Support (IPS) vocational services to adults with mental illness. Under the IPS Program, the Vocational Specialist will be fully integrated into Ruah Teams within the Mental Health and Wellness Service. The IPS specialist is expected to work from different offices and community locations.
The Vocational Specialist will provide career development advice, vocational and employment assistance to adults with mental illness to ensure they can achieve and maintain sustainable participation in vocational education and employment.
The successful candidate will be: Essential ·Knowledge of the principles of Individual Placement and Support evidence-based supported employment.
·Demonstrate recovery-focused, person-centred attitude towards people with mental health needs and disabilities.
·Experience working with adults experiencing mental health needs.
·Excellent organisational, time management and problem-solving skills, including the ability to manage competing priorities and meet organisational outcomes.
·Ability to work proactively and flexibly to meet individual needs.
·Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver person-centred plans and supports.
·Ability to work well both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
·Demonstrated interpersonal skills and proven ability to build and nurture relationships at a personal, organisational and community level.
·Ability to work from different Ruah locations and in the community.
·Well-developed computer, technology and administration skills.
·Strong written and verbal communication skills.
·Ability to provide individualised job support to clients and employers.
·Ability to negotiate with and influence a variety of stakeholders to achieve a mutually beneficial outcome.
Specialist criteria ·Experience working with adults with mental health needs or disabilities.
·Knowledge or experience in employment services or other social inclusion services.
·Knowledge of employment related services, relevant legislation and local labour market trends.
·Knowledge of local education providers and the admissions systems.
·Completion of a relevant tertiary qualification.
