About the role: We are offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced Casual Journalist to fill a vacancy within Illawarra's No 1 Radio Station (i98FM) in Wollongong. Reporting to the Content Director - Audio & Strategy, you will be responsible for preparing and presenting high quality news stories and bulletins with high relevance and appeal to i98FM listeners throughout the Illawarra region.
About you: The successful applicant will have:
A university qualification in journalismAt least 1-2 years' experience in a radio news room would be beneficial.Availability on weekends is a MUST, with the occasional weekday shift for any leave coverageKnowledge of local, national and international news stories affecting the community.Ability to identify story opportunities, and operate with initiative and flexibility.An understanding of media law.The ability to work as part of a team and independently.The ability to work in a fast paced environment - creating and presenting 1-2 bulletins per hourAccuracy and excellent attention to detail.Effective time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.The ability to communicate effectively both orally and written.What we can offer you: We offer the opportunity to work with an award winning, professional and supportive team.
