Reporting to the Manager People and Culture, you will work in partnership with Council to ensure the People & Culture functions represent best practice and ongoing compliance in the delivery of Human Resource services and initiatives across Council. This role is a key driver in delivering programs and policies that support Council objectives, its Corporate Plan outcomes and the Strategic Workforce Plan actions.
With current knowledge of Queensland industrial relations framework and legislation, ideally you will have significant demonstrated experience working in a similar position within Local Government, the ability to review and develop policy and procedures and understand the wider functions and roles across all of Council. From a leadership perspective you will lead by example and are comfortable leading in an environment of organisational and cultural change.
Relevant tertiary qualifications in HR/Psychology are essential, as is demonstrable experience in a relevant area of Local Government or similar regulated environment. You have exceptional communication and engagement skills and possess solid experience working with HRIS systems, preferably TechOne or similar.
