The Role The Human Resources Operations Assistant supports the Manager of the People and Resources team by maintaining accurate employee records, preparing HR reports, and coordinating recruitment efforts. Key responsibilities include managing interview schedules, facilitating onboarding and offboarding, organising employee files, and assisting with HR events and performance management. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to organisation, accuracy, and confidentiality. This role is essential for ensuring smooth HR processes and fostering a positive workplace environment.
Key Responsibilities This role supports the Manager of the People and Resources team with the following:
Assist in maintaining and updating employee records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.Help prepare HR reports and documents as needed.Coordinate interview schedules, communicate with candidates, and manage the applicant tracking system.Assist with posting job openings and handling background check processes.Support new hire onboarding by preparing necessary paperwork, organising orientation sessions, and collecting required documentation.Assist with offboarding activities, including scheduling exit interviews and processing paperwork.Organise, maintain, and update both physical and digital employee files.Ensure compliance with record-keeping and HR best practices.Assist with the planning and coordination of internal HR events, staff training sessions, and engagement activities.Assist in the coordination of the performance review process, including scheduling performance meetings, tracking review completion, and maintaining records.Help prepare and distribute performance evaluation forms and provide basic guidance to managers and employees on the process.Help draft, format, and distribute HR policy updates and other internal communications.Handle additional administrative tasks, such as reception relief and providing support to other departments as needed. About You A high level of attention to detail and accuracy Strong organisational skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)Experience in Xero, Canva, MailChimp, Microsoft Forms, and SharePoint is advantageous, but not requiredPrior administrative experience in HR is advantageous, but not required (if no prior experience, it is preferential that you are studying in the HR field) Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritise tasks and work to deadlinesAbility to work well in a team environment Culture and Benefits Our firm's culture is professional, collegial, and social.
