We are 50 years old, and have 300 staff including a specialist Through Care service to complement our legal services.
We are fully government funded, and this Legal role is tied to ongoing funding, currently set to 30 June 2025.
Opportunity Based in Brisbane, you will have the opportunity to offer generalist HR services across the State, at both an operational and strategic level Our offices provide a rewarding social justice environment for service delivery which is achieved through one-to-one in person, direct community visiting, at our offices and by phone and internet.
Selection Criteria:  ESSENTIAL CRITERIA (5) 1.

Qualifications:   a minimum three years' full-time experience in a professional services office environment and a Diploma in, Human Resources (or equivalent four years' full-time work experience in a similar role  using contemporary technology in recruitment is required) 3.
Administrative skill: competence with Microsoft Office and working in a network accuracy is essential and an ability to draft simple correspondence, collate reports from Excel data, download reports from  online databases and utilise Outlook.
Proven capacity in completing short projects and multiple tasks in a policy-driven environment is highly valued.

Human Resources Officer: capacity to provide sound advice and provide generalist HR services: experience using online recruitment, onboarding, and work attendance operations – ideally using an HR Information System – detail any experience with integrated software that includes any time record management system in your application; familiarity with the operation of web-based recruitment and conferencing equipment (e.g.
Seek, Microsoft Teams, LinkedIn, and any Learning Management System);  provide offboarding support for state-wide offices; ER/IR advice that this accurate and timely; ability with data for payroll deadlines, employment interviews, onboarding, scheduling, dealing with last minute changes to schedules while remaining calm under pressure 5.
Security and safety: e xperience in a team environment for the following is essential: a willingness to undergo a Criminal Record Check to achieve a National Police Certificate (Australia-wide Disclosable Criminal History).
This role requires a demonstrated ability to keep confidential private data and sensitive information relating to employees.

Candidates may be required to disclose misconduct (criminal convictions, prosecution investigations etc.,) that prevent an ATSILS Security clearance in relation to any conviction for fraud or other dishonesty related criminal offences.
To this end, a preferred candidate must be prepared to consent to a criminal history check being conducted (if requested).
Note: A criminal history does not automatically preclude selection for interview, and a preliminary check can be discussed with the Director People & Organisational Development after a candidate has been shortlisted for interview.
experience with any recent workplace safety program's delivery or its administration is valued.
experience or current awareness of Rehabilitation and Return to Work programmes is highly regarded.
DESIRABLE CRITERIA (2) 1.
Experience working with client database systems and working in a legal environment an advantage 2.
Experience in an Aboriginal service, Aboriginality and/or Torres Strait Islander identification.
