Human Resources Officer | Cairns Based | Rewarding Salary Type: Permanent Ref: BBBH4266 The Client Our client is a community controlled Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander health service, which provides culturally appropriate, family centered, primary health care services to the communities and people of Cape York.
The Opportunity An exciting opportunity for a qualified Human Resources professional at an Officer/Advisor/Coordinator level who has experience providing high quality support to the Human Resources Manager and organisational managers for the delivery of a range of human resource services. As the Human Resources Officer, you will be responsible for the implementation of the employment cycle including recruitment, onboarding, support in the probation and performance review processes together with the provision of general human resources advice.
About You To be considered for this role, you will require previous experience in the following:
Contribute to the continuous development and planning of Human Resources services, including ongoing review of Human Resources policies and procedures to ensure compliance with legislation and quality standards. Provide advice and support to Managers in the administration of the recruitment process, assistance with interview questions and recruitment documentation. Liaise with the Human Resources Administrators to ensure that an orientation process has been established for new employees. Support managers to complete probation and bi-annual performance reviews within the approved timeframe. Review requested changes to position description and re-classification requests, providing recommendations to the Human Resources Manager. Support the development, implementation and review of human resources policies, procedures and other relevant documentation ensuring compliance with relevant legislation. Provide advice and guidance on industrial relations and human resource policies, procedures and processes offering practical solutions to assist managers and employees. Coordinate and administer recruitment and selection processes, including job advertisements, position and screening of applicants across a range of positions. Coordinate our client's involvement in careers fairs and expositions to promote employment within the organisation. Tertiary qualifications in a relevant Human Resources or Business discipline with a focus on human resources. Current Queensland Driver's License. AFP National Police Check. Blue Card (Working with Children Card). Demonstrated understanding of the historical and contemporary issues that impact on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and their communities, particularly in Cape York. Ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in accordance with community protocols and customs.
