We have an exciting temporary full-time Human Resources Consultant position available to join our Human Resources team at TAFE Queensland, South West Region's Toowoomba Campus. This position is available until 12 September 2025, unless otherwise determined.

As the Human Resources Consultant, you will partner with the leaders and teams across the business to:
contribute to the development and strengthening of people leadership capability across TAFE Queensland, South West Region; promote a business culture strongly aligned to achieving organisation performance and continuous improvement; and utilise a range of human resource competencies including: strategic human resource management, leadership development, recruitment/selection and employee relations initiatives. This position reports to the Manager, Human Resources.
Key Responsibilities
Contribute to the success of transformation and cultural change through promoting and modelling the established values of Showing Initiated, Working Together, Safety First, Focusing on our Customers and Taking Responsibility. Support the Manager, Human Resources by overseeing key projects and initiatives across the following disciplines: Strategic Human Resource Management Employee Relations Job Evaluation Management Leadership Development Professional Development Recruitment and Selection Provide high level advice and support to managers to undertake informal and formal performance management processes including case management. Understand and interpret employee relations legislation, policies/guidelines and manage processes/procedures relevant to staff discipline, employee complaints and performance matters as required. Encourage an environment in which high quality, best practice HR services are delivered by continually seeking and recommending improvements in systems and processes and leading by example. Maintain high levels of communication to effectively liaise, negotiate, consult and problem solve with a diverse range of stakeholders, including internal and external clients. Liaise with the Health Management Team regarding rehabilitation and return to work matters of staff. Develop and execute effective recruitment and selection strategies that will identify the Region as an employer of choice and support best practice principles. Contribute to the development and implementation of specific strategies, processes and systems to achieve real and measurable change and cultural improvements across the Region. Conduct research on issues relative to leadership development, and provide advice on future directions, leadership development strategies and appropriate initiatives that will support the Region's strategic focus. Research, write and present project plans, business case submissions and reports. Build and maintain professional relationships with key stakeholders to effectively drive projects with a focus to achieve business unit and organisational outcomes. Salary
The salary range for this position at the AO5 classification is $102,744.83 - $111,461.26 (gross) per annum.
