As Human Resources (HR) Manager within People and Culture, you'll lead HR development, enhancing communication, ensuring policy consistency, managing stakeholders, and conducting strategic reviews for effective HR management. This role currently manages a generalist HR business partner team; however, it is planned to transition the team into an employee relations focused team leading discipline, medical and performance case management, industrial relations consultancy and representation before external tribunals, and a HR policy framework. We offer strategic and policy leadership for Queensland Government in digital, customer experience, and service delivery, supporting agencies with design management, capability development, corporate shared services, and customer service channels. Business Services comprises the corporate service functions of finance, people and culture, procurement, and digital governance across QGCDG.
Why Your Role Matters:
Elevating HR Excellence: Driving People-Centric Innovation. Reporting to the Director of People and Culture, the Human Resources Manager is responsible for leading and guiding the HR team in delivering a range of HR services, providing strategic input to senior leadership, contributing to the strategic direction of QGCDG by ensuring fair HR practices, managing complex investigations and reviews, and presenting high-quality reports on various people management issues. Your work extends beyond your immediate role, contributing to a more connected, accessible, and inclusive Queensland.
Who You Are:
The role requires demonstrated experience in leading HR teams to deliver diverse services amidst conflicting priorities, successful implementation of HR changes aligned with strategic goals, and building collaborative relationships with stakeholders. It also demands comprehensive knowledge of HR legislation and policies, along with strong interpersonal, consultative, and negotiating skills to engage effectively with staff and leaders, and to prepare detailed reports and submissions. Upholding the values of QGCDG, including probity, professionalism, and commitment to empowerment, is integral to this role.
